We went to the International Space Hall of Fame. It was very interesting with several space craft. To me the most interesting was the re-entry craft. After that we went to the White Sand National Monument. Miles and miles of gypsum sand dunes. Our interpretive volunteer was very knowledgeable and so helpful Wish we would have had some cardboard so we could have slid down the dunes!! We saw an absolutely beautiful sunset.

Yesterday and today have been really busy work days. Lots of people are making reservations and deposits for this summer. Leisure Resort is almost full over all the major holidays. The park is right on the San Marcos River so it is really a popular spot for tubing....of course, if Texas doesn't get some much needed rain people are going to have to carry the tubes over the rocks!!
Tomorrow we are off to another adventure. We are going to Ruidoso, NM to play in the snow. Our oldest son, daughter-in-law and grand-daughter are joining us for a couple of days. CoCoa will be playing with Tan's dogs while we are gone. So besides working today, having old friends visit and the usual dad-to-day stuff, we were supposed to pack but guess we will do that in the morning. Nothing like saving things for the last minute.

Back by popular demand!!! A friend (Bill6) assured me that people really do read this blog and are interested in our day to day activities. So here goes!
This weekend was really great as we camped with our Rigs-A-Mortis camping club. Now that we are fulltimers, we only get to camp with them about once a year as it is too much to load up our home for 2 or 3 days. As always this group of good friends is so much fun and WAY TOO MUCH but very, very good food.
Now it is back to our grind of work. We are workcamping at Leisure Resort RV Park this winter. We work 4 days and then are off 12. Such a hard life. We work this week and next week we are going to Ruidoso, NM skiing and to play in the snow. Todd, Mandy and Casey are joining us for a couple of days. Life is good!!

Burrrrrrrr!! It's cold. Two nights with below freezing is cold for us. Somebody forgot to tell the weatherman that this is Texas and we DON'T have cold winters.
But tomorrow it will warm up again so won't be too bad.
Hope everyone is getting ready for Christmas and not too stressed. I have all of my shopping done and most of the wrapping. We will all be going to Tanya's house this year. Of course, Mom still gets to do a lot of the cooking. Our grandkids are all getting so big....no babies. Justin is 13, Ty will be 13 in March, Zach will be 9 in Feb, Ryan will be 9 in Feb and Casey will be 9 in May.
We went to the River Walk in San Antonio for dinner and to see the lights Saturday. So many, many people. Was a really enjoyable evening.

Today is our Friday....we have been working for the last 4 days. Such hard work. HA! But it is fun!! We work with our good friends, Jerry & Sue Brooks. The campground is on the San Marcos River and very, very nice. The owners are a hoot...just the nicest people you'd ever meet!
Hope all of you had a good holiday. We had my Dad's 94th birthday the 22nd and then we to Tan's house for Thanksgiving. It was an absolutely great day as all of our kids and grandkids were there. Mom & Dad enjoyed spending time with the family.
We are FINALLY finished with the Hurricane Ike work. That was the biggest mess we have ever gotten into and believe me, we have gotten into our share of messes before! Don't ever work for or buy insurance from at state agency. All of the coastal counties in all state now have these agencies...YUK! As the storm losses progress they change the rules. Texas had 2 major hurricanes this season so TWIA lost a lot of money. They had us tell clients one thing at the beginning and then decided not to pay for them. If it had been a private company this would not have been allowed. Have been yelled at more than my share this season.
Tomorrow is one of those necessary days...laundry, groceries. etc. This weekend we are lucky enough to have Casey (granddaughter) come stay with us. We will do some Christmas light looking, baking and ornament making. So much fun.
