The most interesting thing we did this week was taking an ATV certified safety course. In order to be able to use the Refuge ATVs, we are required to be certified. I spent the last several work days arranging this class. I set it up as an inter-agency (BLM, Forrest Service and us) class. We were scheduled to have several students; however, we ended up with only 4 students......just us volunteers from the Refuge. It was a fun class and now we qualify to rent an ATV.
I am very disappointed with the coverage of the visitor center this weekend. The volunteer that worked this weekend did not put up the open signs on the highway!!???!! Without those signs, nobody knows the VC is open.
